Eleanor Roberts Bellows, 94, formerly of Florida and N. Syracuse, passed away peacefully on July14th at the Cunningham Nursing Home at Loretto, after a brief illness.
She was born on February 24, 1924, in Syracuse, daughter of the late Elmer E. and Emma Hierholzer Roberts.
Eleanor spent many years as a secretary/receptionist and while in Florida as a Mary Kay beauty consultant. Upon returning to NY, she worked into her early 80's in the jewelry departments of the Sears, Kaufmann's and Walmart Stores.She enjoyed being around people and was open and friendly to all. She also enjoyed painting, cooking and traveling with her Mary Kay friends. She was an avid animal lover and always had a pet, usually her favorite, a Siamese cat.
She is survived by her son, Gerald T. (Michele) Bellows, 6 grandsons; Gerald L. (Mary), Steven (Chris), Vincent, Aaron, Scott and Michael, 14 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; a step brother, John (Betty) Donohue, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins, who will greatly miss her.
She was predeceased by her brother, Richard, in 1936 and her step-sister, Patricia Donohue Evans, in 1975.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-7 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter or PACE of CNY (Loretto).
