Egbert O. Woods, 84, of North Syracuse, "Lost the air to his train", Thursday. A life resident of the Syracuse area he was an active member and past President of the 721st Railway Veterans Association. He was a Locomotive Engineer with the 721st Railway Operating CBI Theater during WW II. He was an engineer for the New York Central Railroad, Penn Central, Conrail and CSX. He worked for the North Syracuse School District driving buses. In his retirement, he drove for I'm Smart and Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mae Elizabeth, two sons; Kim (Gail) Woods & Barry Woods, a daughter; Shawn (Edward) Prell, four brothers; Wayne, Roger, Glenn and Perry, grandchildren; Matthew (Ruiqi) Earle, Brian Woods and Timothy (Kelly) Woods.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Syracuse, 300 Burt St., Syracuse, N.Y. 13202.
