Efrain "Frank" Rosa, 76, of Liverpool, NY passed away on Friday morning.
Born on March 17, 1943, he attended Charles Evens Hughes High School in NYC, and obtained degrees in Chemistry and Biology from Brooklyn College.
He married Elba Iris Cortez in 1967, and moved to Syracuse in 1970 with their son. He had a passion for chemistry, and founded his water treatment company, Aqua Tech Inc., before authoring two books on water treatment and Legionnaires' Disease. He was a past president of ASHRAE.
Frank was a caring man, and believed in helping others. He was a member of the Onondaga Star Chapter 144 of the O.E.S, a Past Master Mason in 1980, Past Patron for the the Eastern Star Masonic and Potentate for the Tigris Shriners in 2007. He enjoyed participating in events to help raise funds for the Shriners Hospital for Children.
Efrain was preceded in death by his wife Elba.
Surviving are his son, Efrain "Jay" Rosa, and his two daughters, Julie Rosa Kenney (Orlando, FL), and Christina Elena Rosa (Long Island), along with a granddaughter Alexis Lynne Rosa and an adopted grandson, Joshua Stanski. While his daughters lived out of town, his cousin Damarys Pease lovingly took great care of him.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 30th from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse. Following calling hours, there will be a Masonic and Eastern Star service.
