Effie Jean Clayton "Jean", 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, at the Centers at St. Camillus. Jean was born on May 25, 1923 in Walla Walla, Washington the daughter of Percival and Edith Peck. She attended business school in Portland, OR before moving to San Francisco, CA where she met and married Byron Clayton. Jean lived in Windsor, CA before moving to Syracuse, NY in 2017.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Susan; daughter-in-law, Nancy; five grandchildren: Keith, Tiffany, Nicole, Scott and Andrew James and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Byron; daughter, Connie; and son, Roger.
Jean's ashes will be interred at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma, CA.
Jean loved to read and her favorite author was John Grisham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
