Edward J. Sawtell, 88, of Syracuse, passed away March 9, 2023. Edward was born in Binghamton, New York on June 5, 1934 to Charles and Blanche Sawtell.

Edward was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He later went on the work for LCP (formerly Allied Chemicals), Syracuse where he went on to retire. He also volunteered for 25 years at Upstate Community Hospital. He was an avid golfer and bowler. In his free time, he enjoyed watching SU Basketball. He got to see Coach Boeheim's first and last games, as well as when SU won the NCAA in New Orleans in 2003.

He was preceded in death by Father, Charles Sawtell; Mother, Blanche (Hidde) Sawtell; and Grandaughter, Jessica Litz (1999).

He is survived by his Two Daughters, Lynne M. (Bill) Sheley, Kelly Landi; Grandchildren, Brianne Gauthier, Audrey Lucio; Friends, Danny Garris, Doc, Steve, Kevin, and many more.

Family and friends may call on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 9:30 am-11:00 am at St. Patrick's Church, 216 N Lowell Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204, where funeral mass will be held Monday at 11:00 am. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery to follow.
