Edward R. Schulz

Edward R. Schulz, 80, of Liverpool, passed away Monday. Born December 21, 1929 and raised in Lockhart, TX. He married Sue Willms on August 24, 1951. He received his BSEE degree from the University of Texas on February 15, 1952. He graduated from GE Advanced Engineering Program System for guiding early Atlas missiles and radar for tracking intercontinental missile tests from Cape Canaveral, until 1963, in Syracuse. He then transferred to the Apollo Systems Department in Daytona Beach, FL and did analytical studies and earned a masters degree in April 1967 and a PhD in December 1970 from the University of Florida. He and his family returned to Syracuse in 1972 and did analytical work on radar and sonar systems. He retired July 1, 1990. He was elected to engineering honor societies TAU BETA PI, ETA KAPPA NU, and PHI KAPPA PHI.
He is predeceased by his wife, Sue on July 5, 2006; three sisters, Aileen, Shirley and Lyndelle; and a brother, Elmer.
He is survived by two sons, Glen and Alan (Beverly) Schulz; and a sister, Mildred.
