Edward L. Lockhart Sr., 75, of Syracuse, passed away April 4, 2024. Edward was born in Kenton, Ohio on September 12, 1948 to Emmett and Lillian Lockhart. During his career, he worked at GE, Syracuse and worked construction. If you asked Ed, he would tell you he was a "jack of all trades." He was an avid NASCAR fan and collector of knives big and small. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his family. Ed was a kid at heart with a love for adventure.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Teresa E. (Bryant) Lockhart and parents, Emmett E. and Lillian M. Lockhart.
Ed is survived by his seven children, Susan (Rob) Wescott, William Oakley, Bernice (Carmen) Mauro, Jennifer (Stanley) Jocz, David Oakley, Dawn (Travis Chesson) Casey, E. Lewis (Megan) Lockhart; 38 grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Dianna, Nora, Tina and Katherine.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 4-6PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. A graveside service will be held the following morning, April 11, at 10AM in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed's memory to the Cat Coalition, Lincoln Building, 109 Otisco St, Syracuse, NY 13204.
