Edward J. "Dick" Frankenberg, 89, of Liverpool, passed away, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the VA Medical Center. Born in Corning, NY he was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Dick retired from the NYS DOT as a machinist and was previously a master antique repair and refinisher business owner. Some also know Dick as the professional roller skating coach that taught championship freestyle.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Jeanne (Sowan); son, Richard Frankenberg of Tacoma, WA; daughter Marilyn Teeter of Willow Spring, NC; his stepchildren, David Sowan and Sandra (Mark) Fuller, all of Charlotte, NC, Laurie Sowan, Jeanne Sowan and Deanna Sown, all of Liverpool, and Julie (Jerome) Seeley of N Syracuse; as well as 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Grandpa Frankenberg will forever be missed and remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather that was always there with a helping hand, great advice, welcoming and loving hugs and a warm, generous smile for all of his family and friends.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unity Church, 300 W Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse.
