Edward J. Homer Jr.

Edward J. Homer Jr., 80, of N. Syracuse, passed away on Thursday.

He served in the US Air Force from 1953-57. After his military discharge, he worked for Western Electric for several years. Then he went on to become a Syracuse Fireman retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.

While he was working for the Syracuse Fire Dept., he also worked part time for Longley Jones Real Estate. After his retirement, Ed enjoyed traveling with his longtime companion, Patricia McNamara. She passed away in 2009. Ed also enjoyed playing golf with his friends and Pat.

Edward is survived by his daughter, Carleen A. Breman, son, Edward T Homer, Sr., grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, Mackenzie, Macie, Mallorie, Edward , Jr., great grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Callisandra, Audrianna and, Cheyenne, sister, Patricia Cato, along with a niece and nephew.

Calling hours on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services to follow.
