Edith Y. Oliver, 80, of Liverpool, passed away on Monday at Francis House in Syracuse. Edith was born on July 17, 1942, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Carol Young of Gravesville, NY. She was a graduate of Poland High School and The Crane School of Music at Potsdam University. After graduation, she worked as a music teacher for many years at several schools throughout Central New York.
She was last employed in the marketing department at the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority, retiring in 2005. After retiring, Edith continued to be active in St. Matthews Church in Liverpool, enjoying her pets, playing in the Baldwinsville Community Band, tending to her garden, taking long walks at many of the wonderful parks throughout the area and helping take care of her late husband of 51 years, Robert "Bob" Oliver.
Including her parents and husband, Edith was predeceased by her sister Carol Goodney of Flower Mound, Texas and her brother Kenneth Young of Syracuse. Edith is survived by her sons, Joseph (Cristina) Oliver of Bardonia, NY, Thomas (Jody) Oliver of Atlanta, GA, granddaughter, Kirsten Oliver, sisters Lenore Bettinger and Kathi Young of Albany, NY and many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in the Spring.
