January 15, 1916 — October 4, 2020

Edith R. Meade, Longtime resident of North Syracuse, age 104, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at her son's home with her family by her side.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Walter Meade; two grandsons, Jason and Nicholas.

Edith is survived by her children, Bonnie (Tom) Ranger, Maxine (Elmer) Nelson, Judy (Roger) McIntosh, Jim (Marty) Percy- Meade and Jeff Meade (Sherry Sierra); nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews.

Edith was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute where she earned her associates degree. She retired from General Electric after 20 years of service. She enjoyed playing Bridge, crocheting, reading and donating her time as a volunteer for many community organizations especially Andrews Methodist Church. Edith always had a positive attitude towards life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNY Food Bank or United Methodist Committee on Relief, 475 Riverside Drive, Rm 1501, New York, NY 10115.

Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
