Earl R. Kneuss, born January 15, 1924, passed away peacefully at his home in North Syracuse on April 7, 2022 at the age of 98. Bob, as he was known by his family and close friends, was predeceased by Dorothea, his wife of 61 years in 2004.
Bob served in the Army Air Corps in WWII as a Staff Sergeant, participated in the transporting of General McArthur, troops and supplies over hazardous routes from Australia to the Philippines. He was awarded the Air Medal for courageous service and WWII Victory Medal. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Corps, Bob began his career as an electrician, which led to his position as an electrical estimator and project engineer for BEC Electric.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed many years with family and friends at the cottage that he and his wife Dorothea built in Westport, Ontario.
Bob's memory will live on through the lives of his children; Karen, David and Robyn; his son-in-law, Scott Zelenetz; his grandchildren, Larissa Humiston and Benjamin Zelenetz and his niece Kathryne Goodwill. Bob was predeceased by his brother Kenneth E.; sister-in-law, June; nephew, Edwin and son-in-law, Floyd Humiston.
There will be a celebration with military honors of Bob's life at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church Columbarium on July 23, 2022.
