Durward J. "Jack" Dean, Jr., 68, of Clay, passed away on Monday at University Hospital with his family by his side. He was born March 2, 1944 in Auburn, NY son of Durward and Ruth Dean, Sr. Durward served in the US National Guard from 1965-71. He retired from Carrier Corp. in 2002 after 32 years of service as a machinist. Jack was an avid outdoorsman, member of the American Legion in Cicero, member of the N. Syracuse and Bridgeport Gun Clubs. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed many rides around the lakes as well as spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife Roberta, of 39 years, a son, Michael (Michelle) Dean,of Brewerton, 3 step-daughters; Shelly (Henry) Clark, Sherrie Golembeski, of Auburn, Cindy Golembeski, of Clyde, 3 step-sons; Robert (Carlene), Gregory and Francis (Milagro) Golembeski, all of Auburn, 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Graveside service will be held on Monday 11 am at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn, NY.
