Dr. T.E. Koshy

Dr. T.E. Koshy, 78, of Syracuse, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday. He was born in Kerala, India on September 28, 1933. He loved and served the Lord full time for over 45 years. He holds degrees in Literature, Philosophy, Theology, Journalism and Mass Communications having studied in India (BA, L.L.B.), England (Dip. Th., AMBC) and in the USA (MA, Ph.D). He received his MA in Journalism and Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at SU. Dr. Koshy served as Evangelical Chaplain at Syracuse University for 40 years. He was also Founder and Senior Pastor of International Assembly, Syracuse as well as Founder and Executive Director of International Friendship Evangelism (IFE) based in Syracuse. He had a world-wide ministry which included India, Europe, Asia and Australia. He served as the General Secretary of the Billy Graham Crusade in Syracuse and was a journalist on the White House Press Corp. under President Lyndon Johnson. He is the author of the biography, Brother Bakht Singh of India, and was one of his close associates. He mentored many around the world including, Joel C. Rosenberg, author of many New York Times best-selling books. Dr. Koshy co-authored a book with Rosenberg, The Invested Life: Making Disciples of All Nations One Person at a Time.
Surviving are his wife, Dr. Indira Koshy, MD, son, Jay (Susi) Koshy, grandchildren; Joshua & Sophia, 4 brothers; M.E. Eapen, T.E. George, T.E. Abraham, T.E. Cherian and sister, Annamma Koshy Varghese.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm & Saturday from 9-11am at North Syracuse Baptist Church, 420 S. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY 13212. Services will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the church.
