Douglas M. Hayes

Douglas M. Hayes, 65, of East Syracuse, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 after a courageous battle with large B-cell lymphoma. He was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Patricia and David Hayes. Douglas worked for Carrier, Blue Cross Blue Shield and most recently for PepsiCo, retiring in July of this year. Douglas was a hardworking individual and will be remembered for his humor; he had the ability to make anyone laugh. He was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed rooting for SU Sports, Dallas Cowboys, Boston Bruins and the New York Yankees.

He was a beloved husband, father and a very special Papa. Douglas was a magnificent family man having an endearing love for his family. He went above and beyond to ensure their happiness and well being. Doug was extremely loved and cared for by his family and will forever be missed.

Douglas was predeceased by his brother, David Hayes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Deborah; two daughters, Kristen (Daniel) Casciano and Danielle (Menelek Lidonde) Hayes; two grandchildren, Kahlia and Liana; one grandchild on the way; brothers, Daniel (Gina) and Dennis (Valerie) Hayes; sister, Karen Hayes; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024,  1-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
