Dorothy "Sarah" Strever (Watts)

Dorothy "Sarah" Strever (Watts), 72, of Syracuse, went home to heaven on Friday. Dorothy was born in Poughkeepsie on January 25, 1942. She lived in New York, Pennsylvania and Idaho. She attended Eastern Nazarene College and Idaho State University, graduating with a B.A. degree in Social Work. Dorothy worked as a social worker at Tanner Rehab Center in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was also a Nazarene minister.
Dorothy was predeceased by 3 sisters, including Carol Keenan and Rosemary Antone; 1 brother, Raymond Watts; and Dorothy's husband, Frank Strever.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Ethel Jackson; 5 nieces, including Judith Marshall, Susan Bean and Brenda Gabruk; 4 nephews, including Douglas Marshall and Robert Jackson; 2 foster siblings, Judith Peterson and Jerry Hunt; 4 foster children, Marcie Heintz, Esther Whitehead, John McKenzie and Miriam Fox.
Calling hours will be Thursday 9-10AM with a funeral service at 10AM at Community North Church of the Nazarene, 5367 Rte. 31, Clay.
