Dorothy H. Phillips

Dorothy H. Phillips, age 95 of N. Syracuse, NY passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband of 21 years, James M. Phillips; daughter, Pamela Phillips; son, Andrew C. Phillips; and her sister, Theresa Semonik.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, James (Gail) Phillips, and Matthew Phillips; brother, John (Carol) Hnath; grandchildren, Jason, Sean, Jaime, and Alexander; great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Aidan, Liam, Reygan, Kinsley and Riley; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of Hopewell High School and attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1947. She married the love of her life, James on May 10, 1947. Shortly after James joined the family in 1951 and followed by Pamela in 1953. In 1958 the Phillips family moved to Venezuela and returned to Syracuse, NY in 1961. Shortly after Matt and Andy joined the family. In 1968 dad passed away leaving Dorothy to raise four children by herself. She was a caring mother dedicated to her family. She enjoyed counted cross-stitch making each of her great-grandchildren a birth sampler. Dorothy was an avid S.U. sports fan. She also enjoyed her collections of Angels. Dorothy will be missed by all who loved and knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NAVAC or Helping Hounds Dog Rescue.
