Dorothy M. Pelkey, 80, formerly of Clay, NY and most recently of Port Orange, FL passed away on October 6th surrounded by her grandchildren. Dorothy owned Cicero Glass with her husband, Richard before moving to Florida where she worked at Wal-Mart. Her grandchildren were her world, she did everything from going to the movies to playing bingo and shopping with them.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Richard; parents, Marcella and Edward Sova; 2 siblings, Barbara LeMay and Harold Sova.
She is survived by four children, Robert (Katie) McNeil, Teresa Wioncek, Ronald McNeil and Renee (Steven) Rush; grandchildren, Edward (Riki), Alisha, Kayleigh (Troy), Jesse, Camryn, Tori, Brittany, Megan, Branden and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Destiny, Kearra, Alexis, Isabella, Grayson, Logan, Scarlet, Jianni and two on the way; great-great grandchild, Tylan; siblings, Diann (Ralph) Meeker, Edward Sova and Walter (Crystal) Sova and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 17th 12pm-2pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in N. Syracuse, NY with a service to follow at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice or the American Heart Association.
Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
