Dorothy M. Jones

Dorothy M. Jones, 85, of Syracuse passed away peacefully Thursday. Dorothy, the only child of Albert and Helen O'Ryan, was born in Massena, NY. Dorothy graduated from Sacred Heart High School but lived her life in Syracuse, where she met the love of her life, Arthur Jones. Arthur courted Dorothy at the age of 14, and they happily later married at the age of 20. Dorothy worked as a Switchboard Operator at NY Telephone for several years before deciding to leave to raise her four children.

Dorothy was a resident of Loretto's Fahey Building for 15 years where she was involved in many activities. Dorothy especially enjoyed doing the reading every Sunday in church. The love and care Dorothy received at Loretto was reflected in her overwhelming appreciation and joy for the residents and the staff, who quickly became her second family.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Arthur Jones.

She is survived by four children; Jaime (Katherine Cox) Jones; Janice (Ross) Langevin; Jody (Lisa) Jones; AJ (Patty Latray) Jones; 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Dorothy and Artie are together once again.
