Dorothy Eva June, 92, passed on Wednesday after a brief battle with cancer. Dorothy, Dottie, mother, mumsey as she was affectionately called, was born in England where she was raised in and around London. She met and married Burton during WW II, while he was stationed there as a glider pilot. She crossed the Pond to live in the US as a military wife and mother, becoming a proud American Citizen who never gave up her British accent. She raised 3 children, volunteering in hospitals and dedicating herself to her church and Sunday school children. A founding member of Bellewood Baptist Church, she lived her life full of love, life, family, laughter and faith, which she shared with everyone she touched.
Surviving are her sons; David S. (Linda), Daytona Beach, FL, Clifford R., Haw River, NC, 3 sisters; Alice, Pat & Nellie, all from England, 8 grandchildren; Jonathan, Emily, Carrie, Lindsey, Kim, Rick, Teresa & Tim, along with 6 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Saturday 12:01pm at Bellewood Baptist Church, 445 Church St., N. Syracuse. Burial to follow at North Syracuse Cemetery.
