Dorothea Marie Emerson, 77, of North Syracuse passed away Wednesday at home. Born on the Onondaga Nation, she was a longtime resident of North Syracuse. Dorothea is predeceased by her husband George who passed in 1985. She was a member of the American Legion Post Auxiliary #787 in Cicero and Past member of the VFW Auxiliary #7290.

She is survived by her children; George Jr. (Barb) Emerson, Deborah (John) Stawiarz, Donna (Steve) Pomeroy and Diane (Brock) Gorman, her twin sister; Doris Bellinger, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday at 10 AM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with her family on Sunday from 1-4 PM at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St..
