Doris M. Silverton, 90, passed away on Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Kathy. She was born on April 6, 1921 in Watertown a daughter of Jackson and Florence Squires. Doris resided for 54 years on Woodbine Ave. in Eastwood.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and walking the beach at Lake Ontario. Doris was a former member of the Reformed Church of Syracuse and was employed for many years by the Syracuse City School District.

Survivors are a daughter, Kathy Mahar, 5 grandchildren; Amber Mahar, Renee Moreno, Barry Mahar, Jr., Shannon Greene, Crista Mahar, step granddaughter Alicia Gethers and 3 great granddaughters. Predeceased by her husband, Floyd in 2003 and a daughter Karen Molinere in 2002.

Services will be held Friday 1 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 12-1pm, at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to the Kitty Corner of Syracuse or to the SPCA.
