Doris Jackson, 88, passed away Friday at the Francis House. Doris was a Word Processor with Nationwide Insurance for many years before her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Mattydale, the American Legion Post 1832 in Mattydale until 1999 and a former member of the Senior Citizens Happy Hearts Club. Her husband, Raymond "Frenchy" Jackson predeceased her in 1984.
Survivors include three daughters; Gaynel (O.C.) Pyrtle of Baldwinsville, Barbara Bennett of Mattydale and Linda Anderson of North Syracuse, a sister; Mildred Good of Tonawanda, 20 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday at 7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will be on Friday at 10 AM in Ira Union Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main Street. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave, Syracuse, NY.
