Doris J. Finsel, 87, of Cicero, passed away October 18, 2023. Doris was born in Syracuse, New York on January 3, 1936 to Russell and Blanche (Mallette) Michels.
Doris retired from Drivers Village, Cicero, NY, in January of 2023 after 26 years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed bingo, visiting the casino, bowling, playing cards, jig-saw puzzles, board games, playing pool and scratch off tickets. Doris was an avid sports fan, especially the Yankees, SU and Buffalo Bills. She also loved attending all of her grandchildren's various activities. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Blanche (Mallette) Michels; siblings, John "Jack" Michels, Jean Boyke and James Michels; and the father of her children, John "Bob" Finsel.
She is survived by her three children, Robyn (Bill) Finsel, Randy (Robin) Finsel and Debbie (Kevin) O'Connor; grandsons, William, Zackary (Brittany), Jacob (Michael Ann) and Johnny; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Jackson, Chloe and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 am. Interment will be at North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Doris' name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
