Doris E. Wool, 88, of North Syracuse, died at home on Friday surrounded by family. She was born in Williamsport, PA May 31, 1925. Doris graduated from Geisinger Hospital in 1946 as an RN. She was part of the Cadet Nursing Corp. Doris retired from the North Syracuse School District as a school nurse in June 1984. She volunteered for the North Area Meals on Wheels for many years.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, Joseph L. Wool on April 3, 2005.
She is survived by three children, Christian J. Wool (Cathy), of Fabius, David L. Wool (Fern) of North Syracuse and Lisa K. Wool of North Syracuse; four grandchildren, Stephanie Shirley, Caitlin and Tara Manion and Elizabeth Wool; three great grandchildren, Paige, Payten and Addison Shirley.
A memorial service will be held at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in North Syracuse on Wednesday, November 20th at 4PM. The family will meet with friends following the service in the church Social Hall. Interment will be in Williamsport, PA.
The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of CNY or the Arthritis Foundation.
