Donna L. Smith, 82, of Cicero, NY, peacefully went to sleep in death on Monday, October 10, 2022, after a very brief illness. Donna was born in Syracuse, NY, on June 11, 1940, to Howard and Virginia (Kinney) Ranger.
Donna was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Richard H. Smith, her and Richard's infant daughter, Brenda Leah, and her parents, Howard and Virginia Ranger. She is survived by her children, Victoria Smith, Timothy Smith, Michele (Patrick) Conrad, and Joel Smith; her grandchildren Michaela (Bill) Marsh, Kyle (Katelynn) Conrad, Richard K. Smith, and Eisha Conrad; her great-grandchildren Madeline, Raelynn, and Catherine Marsh, along with Teddy Conrad. Also surviving her is her sister-in-law, Sue Smith and many nieces and nephews.
Donna belonged to the North Syracuse Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for 60+ years. Her relationship with her God Jehovah was the motivating force in her life. She lived her life every day by God's principles and standards.
Donna dealt with MS and all the difficulties that came with it for over 30 years. She never complained and always tried to keep a positive outlook. What a fine example she was of grace and perseverance!
Special thanks to her son, Timothy, for stepping in as her primary caregiver after the passing of her husband Richard in January of this year. Timothy's deep love for Donna was evident by the excellent care and dedication he gave. Donna was so very grateful for him. Thanks to all those who called, visited, and offered encouragement.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7332 Buckley Road, Syracuse, NY 13212.
