Donald E. McKay, 84, of North Syracuse, was called to Heaven on Sunday, June 25th surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Yvonne and Arthur McKay. At 18, Donald started working for the railroad until his retirement with CSX at the age of 62. Donald loved camping, traveling, playing cards, Chess and Bingo.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert McKay; brothers, Leonard, Albert, Victor and Raymond McKay and sister, Alice Hartman.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose (Hawley); children, Sandra (Mark) Worden, Daniel McKay, Theresa (Peter) Pfluke and Robin (Tim Moyer) Collins; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles and Norman (Patty) McKay; sister, Germaine Wright; 4 beloved pups; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 1st 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in N. Syracuse with a service to follow at 7pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society CNY.
