Donald L. Burpee, 84, of Union Springs, passed away peacefully on Monday. He was born in Concord, NH to Claude and Evalena Burpee. Don was a Korean War veteran serving in the Army. He retired from Alco Corp. with 29 years of service. He was an active member and volunteer of the Auburn Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Burpee; five children, Yvonne Burpee, Roland (Gail) Burpee, Norman Burpee, Lauraetta Burpee and Timothy Burpee; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three siblings, Beverly Gillespie, Elnora Kline and Stewart Burpee; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Thursday 1PM at the Auburn Seventh Day Adventist Church, 56 Prospect St, Auburn, NY 13021. In keeping with Don's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
