Donald James Hastings, 79, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday after a short illness.
Donald was an accomplished steel guitar player and was inducted into the Cortland Hall of Fame in 1991.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Olive Hastings; 2 sons, Donald Hastings, Jr. and Todd Hastings and one grandchild, Matthew Hastings.
He is survived by 4 children, Pamela Hastings, Robert (Deb) Wheeler, Ted (Tanya) Hastings and Shawn (Melanie) Hastings; brothers, Robert (Mary Mil) Hastings, Gerald (Doreen) Hastings and James Hastings; sister, Joanne Balstra; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088 or Loretto Nursing Home, 700 E. Brighton Ave., Syracuse, NY 13205.
