Donald G. Gitzen, Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday peacefully at home. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he loved fishing, cars and was a member of the PT Cruiser Club. On June 4, 1960 he married Mary Donato.
He is survived by wife, Mary of 51 years, two daughters, Mary (Gary) Hewitt, Lisa (Jim) Galla, son Donald, Jr. ( Amy), two grandchildren, Martika, Angelina, two brothers, Norman and Russell Gitzen, sister Betty Susnak, along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Services will be held on Wednesday 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
