Donald F. Tinsch, 82, of Cicero, passed away at the home of his daughter, Wendy, with family at his side. He was born in Methuen, MA. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Don was a graduate of Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA and the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. He was employed as an electronics technician at Hancock Airport Control Tower, retiring in 1983. Don was a member of the North Syracuse Baptist Church, where he served for several years as Song Leader and Radio and TV Announcer.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (Davern) Tinsch; daughters, Sheree (Lee) Sherwin and Wendy (Gary) Fitzgerald; sons, David and Donald (Wendy); nine grand-children; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, 12 noon at the North Syracuse Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Sunday from 2-5 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the North Syracuse Baptist Church, Radio and TV Ministry or Hospice of CNY.
