Donald M. Cox Sr.

Donald M. Cox Sr., 68, of North Syracuse, passed away May 12, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. Donald was born on September 6, 1955 to Ernest and Nancy Cox. He worked in the construction field for over 45 years and was commercial handyman for much of his career. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at camp, hunting, shooting pool and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Cox, Sr.; brothers, Ernest Cox, Jr., Robert Cox, Sr. and David Cox; and sister Helen (Cox) Gardner.

Donald is survived by his wife, Betty Kingsbury-Cox; two sons, Donald Cox, Jr. and Adam (Laura) Szyikowski; grandchildren, Michael (Susan) Sanders, Jasmin (Sydney) Szyikowski, Shaelah Szyikowski, Alexis Wheeler, Alyssa (Tamra) Wheeler and D'Ante Wheeler; three brothers, James (Candy) Cox, Jason (Gizelle) Cox and Yancy (Bekha) Cox; and sister, Michele Cox.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 23 from 3-7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY.
