It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Dolores (Kincler) Beck on April 9, 2025, at the age of 93.
Dolores was born in Brooklyn, NY, on August 21, 1931 to John and Francis Kincler. Dolores attended a Catholic school, the same one her dad and Jackie Gleason attended.
The family moved to Solvay, NY, in 1945 and Dolores graduated from Solvay High School in 1949. After high school, she attended nursing school for one year.
Dolores then worked at General Electric, where she met the love of her life and soulmate, Raymond Beck, who she married in 1954. Ray predeceased Dolores in November of 2021 after nearly 68 years of marriage.
Dolores also worked at NY Tel and as an Election Inspector. Dolores and Ray loved to travel. For twenty years, they traveled to Cancun and made many life-long friends. They also travelled to Hawaii three times as well as visiting many other states.
At the age of thirty-nine, Dolores purchased her first vehicle with an automatic transmission: a 1970 AMC Hornet.
She was an avid reader, loved playing cards, excelled at baking (including her famous blueberry muffins, made with the berries Ray grew), gardening, and sharing the harvest with family and neighbors. She enjoyed movies and looked forward to trips to the casino. Later in life, she became a Syracuse basketball fan and an LA Lakers fan.
Several years ago, Dolores checked a big item off her bucket list: The Rockettes at Radio City in New York City.
Dolores chose to be a stay-at-home mom and with Ray’s help they raised their two children, Paul and Kathy (McGuire) Beck, first in Fayetteville, NY, and then in Liverpool, NY, from 1962 to present.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Kathy (McGuire) Beck of Baldwinsville, NY, her son, Paul and his wife, Lorey Beck of Fairport, NY, grandson, Christopher Beck and his wife, Jennifer Beck and great-grandsons, Owen, Jack and Mason Beck of Athens, AL; grandson, Trevor Beck and his wife, Paige Beck and great-grandchildren. Theodore and Andrea Beck of Fairport, NY; and grandson, Kellen Beck and his wife, Taylor Barker Beck and great-granddaughter, Evelyn Beck of Rochester NY. What a legacy! Dolores is also survived by her younger sister, Rosemary Tomasetti of Solvay, NY.
Dolores chose to be an organ donor and has requested no calling hours. A private inurnment will take place at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY, at a future date.
