Dianne Beverly Denka O'Connor went home to be with family on June 6. Dianne was born November 22, 1936, the first of twins to her parents Frederick and Elizabeth Denka.
Dianne was a Licensed Practical Nurse and graduated from the first LPN program offered in Syracuse. She worked as a charge nurse at Van Duyn Home and Hospital for 37 years prior to her much deserved retirement.
She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering support and advice she provided to anyone who solicited her generosity of a delicious meal or a home when needed. She was always continuously caring for someone. Her Christmas celebrations were always gift-filled and extravagant. Dianne lived her life through her family and was the epitome of a Lady. She will be deeply missed by her family and her "furbaby" Maisey.
Dianne was predeceased by her Husband, Robert Jr, who she was married to for forty-four years. During this union, they had eight children. Sadly, she endured the deaths of two children, Colleen and E'Rin prior to her own return to home. Her siblings, all deceased, include Jeanne, Michael, Joseph, Patricia and her identical twin Daunne.
She is survived by her children Patricia, Sharon, Elizabeth (Rick), Robert III, Christine (Gina) and Sean (Beth). She had many grand and great-grandchildren to carry on her legacy as well. She is also survived by her favorite nephew, Michael Denka (Bonnie) and favorite niece/god-daughter Kelly Sheldon.
Services for Dianne will be held on June 14, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society, Food Bank of Syracuse or the Humane Society.
