Diane Griffith Doherty, RN, formerly of Utica, passed away on Tuesday unexpectedly after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She retired as a Registered Nurse working at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She attended St. Francis De Sales School and graduated in the Class of 1954 and graduated from St. Elizabeth's Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She was predeceased by her parents, David and Lillian (Gottung) Griffith, her former husband, Richard Doherty and her niece Julie Griffith.

Surviving are her daughter Maura Usyk, her beloved grandson Noah Usyk, her brother David Griffith, Jr. and his wife Carol (Dillon), their 9 children and her cherished canine companion, Porter.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday 1pm at St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Resources of CNY, Inc. or to your local Humane Society.

Maura would like to thank 2 special neighbors; Mrs. Heather Revelle and Mrs. Michelle Brunozzi for their loving kindness. A special thank you also to the Cicero Vol. Fire Dept. & Paramedics and the Cicero Police Dept. for their valiant efforts to revive Diane, as well as the ER Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital.
