Dennis J. Valente, 61, of Liverpool, passed away on Sunday at his home surrounded by his friends and family. Dennis was born on March 31, 1951 in Syracuse and grew up in East Syracuse. He graduated from Assumption High School and worked as a salesman at Stadium International Trucks for 21 years. He enjoyed playing golf, working on his yard and spending time with his grandchildren. Dennis was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and loyal friend. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand whether it be at church or snowblowing all the neighbor's driveways.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Frank Valente and Rose Valente.
Surviving are his wife Cathy, his son, Kevin (Jenny) Valente, 2 daughters; Lauren Valente, Jackie (Chris) Morris, 2 grandchildren, Andrew, Mason, brother, Frank (Andrea) Valente and a sister, Karen (Mike) Rubenstein.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday 10am at Pope John XXIII Church (St. John's) Liverpool. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Food Pantry at Pope John XXIII Church or to the Special Olympics.
