Deborah Ann Barron

November 22, 1953 — October 10, 2022

Deborah Ann "Debbie" Barron, 68, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her daughters and siblings on Monday, October 10, 2022.

Debbie was born in Auburn, New York, on November 22, 1953, to the late John and Patricia (Sullivan) Barron. She married Richard Woodcock in 1974.

She is survived by her daughters, Kara (Joe) Knepp of Morton, IL, and Kate (Chris) Wahl of Smithfield, VA; siblings, Judith (Matt) Dunn, Diane (Kevin) Keating, Joyce (Kevin) Johnston, Stephen (Sue) Barron, and Lisa (Karl) Hagen; and her loving grandchildren, Wyatt and Raegan Knepp, and Kaylee and Abby Wahl along with several nieces and nephews.

Debbie graduated from Weedsport High in 1971. She graduated from Powelson Business Institute in 1973 and later obtained her paralegal certificate from Monroe Community College. Debbie was a talented writer and worked for Gannett newspapers before becoming a paralegal and working at various law firms in both the Rochester and the Syracuse areas.

Debbie was a 25+ year survivor of breast cancer. She was a caring and giving person who loved rescuing animals and had a particular affinity for cats. Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, Debbie never knew a stranger. She loved to spend time with her family and friends especially if it involved being near the water. Debbie loved her Irish heritage and often listened to Irish music.

Contributions in memory of Debbie may be made to Kitty Corner in Liverpool, NY, where Debbie was a devoted volunteer.

All friends and family are welcome to join us for Debbie's Celebration of Life from 3-6 pm on November 12, 2022, at CJ's Pub and Restaurant at 8902 S Seneca St., Weedsport, NY. Wear your green!
