Dawn D. Stone

July 19, 1939 — October 1, 2024

On October 1, 2024, our incredibly compassionate, thoughtful, loving, Mom; Dawn Diane Stone passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years young. She met her love, our dad at an early age in Bridgeport, NY, later marrying in 1959. Between them both raising four wonderful, and successful children who gave them seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

During their 65 years of marriage. She was blessed to enjoy much of what life sent her way. She cherished and adored her children and championed all their accomplishments, and dreams. Along life’s journey, she enjoyed many years of camping on family property at Black Lake, NY, and later their camp on the St. Lawrence River. She faced many years of challenging work in local industry, all the while being an amazing wife, and homemaker. Our Mom was the matriarch of an ever-expanding family from which her comforting ways spilled over in all she did, and those she met. She enjoyed countless years of farmhouse homemaking on the Stone Family Farmstead. She was protective of her flock, and warmly opened her home to neighbors, and all that visited, especially family, and friends enjoying her home cooking on weekends. Most important to her was the time spent with her family, her siblings, and their families, and long country drives with dad.

She was a communicant of St Francis of Assisi church in Bridgeport, and Sacred Heart Church in Cicero. She is survived by her husband, Adelbert Terrence (AL) Stone, and four children; Adele (George) Stoyan of Clay; Kevin (Lisa) Stone of North Syracuse; Lisa (Brian) Binion of Bridgeport; and Brian (Leane) Stone of Hastings; and sister Sandy (Donald) Worden, along with her seven wonderful grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews from who she adored.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick, and Erma Scheibler of Bridgeport, NY; sisters Marlene (Sis) Falsey, Dorthea (Trudy) Llewellyn, and brothers, Roland, Duane, and Darrell Schiebler.

In lieu of calling hours, a celebration of her life will be held at a future date.

Donations can be mailed in her honor to the St. Francis of Assisi Church Food Pantry, 229 Yates Street, East Syracuse, New York.
