David Williams

February 28, 1952 — March 18, 2021

On Thursday March 18th, David Williams went home to the Lord.

David was a true outdoorsman who loved camping and hiking in his backyard playground, the Adirondacks. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved feeling the sense of freedom while riding his motorcycle. Hunting with his son in law, Corbett Smith (who he loved picking on by pointing out everything he was doing wrong in Dave's opinion), and teaching his grandson, Skyler Smith, how to hunt was one of his favorite hobbies. Dave also enjoyed tapping maple trees with his friend, John Petreszyn, and his grandson, Skyler Smith, to make their own maple syrup. Riding his ATV off road in Tug Hill was one of his favorite adventures. Most Friday's you could find him spending time with his breakfast buddy, Hank Wilcox.

One of Dave's greatest assets in life was his ability to leave everyone with a smile on their face and laughter in their heart with his sense of humor. Dave's greatest joy in life came from being a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and Marine reservist.

David was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Audrey Williams and his brother in law, John Patton.

He is survived by his wife and partner of 22 years, Michelle Williams; his three pride and joy daughters, Yvonne Williams (Charlotte, NC), Kimberly Williams (Bridgeport, NY), Amanda Williams and Corbett Smith (Liverpool, NY), and his stepson Jerry and Samantha Dwyer (Orlando, FL); his friend and the mother of two of his children, Dori Williams (Bridgeport, NY); and his siblings Kathy (Dave) Klein, Debbie (John) Patton, Dawn (Todd) Bumbarger and Dan (Raquel) Williams. David also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jason Williams, Skyler Smith, Austin Smith and Piper Smith (Pumpkin2); his three special grandchildren, Julie Madden, Johanna Jackson, and Danny Jackson; nieces and nephews; and his very close friend, Ore Ellertsson (Sony) of Iceland. David will be missed by his 4 legged children and man's best friends, Cooper and Miska.

We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who helped to provide the best of care for Dave during his illness.

Calling hours will be March 27th, 11:30 am -12:00 pm, with a service to follow all at North Central Church, 7463 Buckley Rd, Syracuse, NY 13212. David will be cremated and his ashes will be spread during a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers please, make donations to Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Attn: Development, 875 N. Randolph St. Set 225, Arlington, VA 22203.
