David W. Welker, 87, of North Syracuse, passed away on Friday at the Cottages at Garden Grove. David was born in Canton, OH on December 1, 1934 son of the late Homer and Mildred Welker. David was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard. David retired from United Airlines after several years of employment. Dave was also a Volunteer Fireman with the North Canton, Ohio Fire Dept. Throughout the years he enjoyed camping with his family & friends and he was an avid reader.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Scharver) of 63 years, children, James (Barbara) Welker, Lorrie (Jerry) Winters, Tammy Welker, Jeffrey (Amy) Welker, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, his sister Joan Greenfelder of Akron, OH and brother Tim (Julie) Welker of Denver, CO, along with several nieces and nephews.
