David O. Hoyt, 74, of West Monroe, passed away September 11, 2022.
David was born in Syracuse, New York on May 18, 1948 to the late Howard and Helen Hoyt.
A PV Moore High School Graduate, David was a successful wrestler. Later going to MIT and receiving a Math Scholarship. David retired after many years as an auto body mechanic at Battles Garage. Previously he was a successful bouncer known for his left hook. Over the years, he won various awards for his auto body work and paint jobs on cars. An avid Harley Davidson fan, David loved to ride his motorcycles.
He is predeceased by his Brother, Carl Robert Hoyt Sr.
He is survived by his Two Daughters, Tara Hoyt and Christina Hoyt; Grandsons, Shelby Schull, Terrie Bourgeois, Laedon Hoyt and Conor D. Kenny; Brother, Paul Hoyt; As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 17 from 10 AM – 12 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. A short service will follow at 12 PM and then burial at 1 PM in Union Settlement Cemetery. All bikers are welcome to join in for one final ride to the cemetery.
Everyone in attendance is invited to wear Harley Davidson apparel to his services in memory of Dave AKA "Captain Berserko".
