David J. "Dave" Herron, 79, of North Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday at Crouse Hospital after a short illness.
David was born in Olean, NY on February 2, 1942, son of the late Laverne and Mary Charlotte Herron Farr.
David retired from Magic Chef/Whirlpool in Syracuse. Dave enjoyed being with his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He never missed any chance to see the grandchildren's games and performances. He was an avid Syracuse Crunch Fan and loved traveling with his family. Dave was a man who generously shared his joyful spirit with everyone. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Haight) Herron of 58 years; daughter, Marcia Cronin; son, Mark Herron; 5 grandchildren, Julia, Adam, Ben, Mimi, and Owen; 11 great grandchildren, Sadie, Amelia, Nora, Atticus, Molly, Peter, Eleanor, Seamus, Christopher, Rose, and Alistair, with twins on the way; and step-brother, Jerry Farr.
