David M. Hayes Sr.

David M. Hayes Sr., 81 of Syracuse, NY, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023. David was born on March 25, 1942 to the late Henry Hayes and Frances (Hayes) Weber.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
David retired from the Town of Geddes Highway Department after many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
David lived with his wife Nancy for 25 years in Lakeland, NY. After retirement they moved to Cape Vincent on Lake Ontario where he enjoyed fishing, boating and wine time on the swing with Nancy while looking out at the lake. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nancy, brother, Henry, sisters, Alice and Diane.
He is survived by his children, Diana (Jeff) Collins, Kristen (Jim) Ferguson and David (May) Hayes Jr, grandchildren, Kassidy (Nicholas) Burgess, Carson Ferguson, Emily (Gabriel) Labbate and Taylor Hayes and sister, Joanne Snell.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Organization of CNY.
