David Eugene Richardson, 79, passed away December 30, 2010 at home in Chittenango, NY. He was born July 27, 1931 in Troy, Iowa to Major Ira and Hazel M. Richardson. David grew up in the Troy area before moving to Fairfield, IA where he was an accountant with ACCO Louden for several years. He had most recently lived in Sturgis, SD before moving to Chittenango earlier this year. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Pauline Estle and Maxine Meredith, and brothers Robert Richardson and Russell Richardson.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Richardson; daughters, Debra Richardson of Spearfish, SD, Diane (Duane) Apling of Ashburn, VA, Caylin Richardson of Round Hill, VA; son, Scott Richardson of Centralia, MO; step-daughters, Amanda (Kris) Denton of Cazenovia, NY and Melynda Ancell of Denver, CO; grandsons, E5/SSGT Geoffrey (Kelsey) Richardson, currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Jerry Richardson of Brookfield, MO; step-grandchildren, Sammy and llsa Denton of Cazenovia; great-grandchildren, Kirra and Silas Richardson of Okinawa, Japan; sister, Helen Brooks of Red Bluff, CA; and brother, Merle Richardson of Milton, IA.
Per his wishes, no memorial service is planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in support of Custer State Park may be sent to the South Dakota Parks & Wildlife Foundation, 523 East Capital Ave, Pierre, SD 57501-3182 or to Hospice Foundation of Central New York, 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
