David C. Weegar

David C. Weegar, 76, of North Syracuse passed away Wednesday, surrounded by his family. David's good humor and love of family and friends will be missed by all. David was born November 7, 1934 in Syracuse, son of the late Harry and Myrtle Weegar. He retired from New Process Gear in 1995 following 27 years of service as a truck driver. After retirement, he was appointed Assistant Highway Superintendent of Palermo for eight years. He served as a volunteer fireman for North Syracuse, Altmar, South Bay and Palermo where he received his lifetime membership. For many years he summered with his wife, Carolyn and his dog, Mr. Beasley at Brennan's Beach.
David was married April 26, 1952 to Carolyn Hiller.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by five daughters, Judy (Ed) Gridley, Deborah (Clark) Graves, Sandra Nelepovitz, Marjorie (Bob) Fennelly and Pamela (Jeff) Hyde; son, Ronald (Jen) Weegar; brother, Bruce Weegar; sister, Suzanne Cain; ten grandchildren, one great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 9 am at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St.
