David G. Burns

David G. Burns, 64, of Mattydale, passed away on January 10, 2024 at SUNY Upstate Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Syracuse, NY on January 5, 1960 to David and Sally Burns.
From the time Dave was a young man, it was evident that he was very mechanically inclined and had a knack for fixing just about anything. This easily flourished into his passion and excitement for restoring/fixing vehicles and working on modified race cars with his racing buddies (#111).
Dave was a dedicated hardworking man who spent much of his career at Syracuse China, and most recently at EJ USA. He was a regular at the Fulton Speedway and was a devoted racing and NY Giants fan. He was a caring son, proud father, and grandparent, who loved spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved kitty cat. His absence will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his wife, Susan Burns; son, David Burns Jr.; father, David J. Burns; brother, Gary Burns; grandmother, Violet Pacelli; mother of his children, Genevieve Burns; kitty cat, Smokey.

He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Wolterding (Burns); son, Zachary Burns; Grandchildren, Devin, Cierra and Alivia; mother, Sally Burns-Ray; brother, Jeff Burns; aunt, Joyce Bird; a nephew; few nieces; kitty cat, Oreo.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2023, from 4 - 6 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, Syracuse,
