David L. Benson

David L. Benson, 81, of North Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2024. David was born in Syracuse, New York on January 3, 1943 to the late Howard and Marion Benson. 

David retired from 174th Fighter Wing, Syracuse, NY, where he attained the rank of CMSgt. He was an aircraft mechanic. In his free time, he enjoyed boating, was an avid Yankee fan, and Syracuse University sports. David was a loving father and grandfather. 

He was preceded in death by wife of 45 years, Stephanie E. (Kulha) Benson; parents, Howard and Marion (Vinnette) Benson; son, Jason A. Benson; son-in-law, Kevin M. Frye; and sister, Donna M. Patton.

He is survived by his son, David H. (Linda) Benson; daughter, Natalie E. (Christopher Suchewski) Frye; grandson, Benson F. Frye; partner, Karen Hickman; brother, Thomas (Jill) Benson; sister, Elizabeth (Jack) Conroy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends may call on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 701 North Main Street, North Syracuse.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at St. Rose of Lima, 409 South Main Street, N. Syracuse at 10:00am. 

Interment at Pine Plains, Clay, NY.
