David A. Owen

David A. Owen, 91, of North Syracuse, formerly of Warfordsburg, PA, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. He was an Army veteran of WWII. David was a cook for the Lake Placid Club and an excellent stone mason in Vermont and Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his wife, Nellie(Divel) Owen, first wife, Anna (Burriesci) Owen, step son, Richard Owen, his brothers, Dana and Charles Owen, his sisters, Mabel and Ruth Francis, Ella Prince and Myrtle McLane, his parents, Elva and Fred Owen.
David is survived by his son, Duane Owen; daughters, Sheila Owen and Catherine (Thomas) Stolz; two step-children, Darlene (Ken) Guckert, Darryl(Charlotte) McFarland; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday 1 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels or a charity of your choice.
