Darryl E. Waterstraat

Darryl E. Waterstraat, 69 of West Monroe, NY, passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2022. Born on March 25th, 1953 in Syracuse, NY to the late Robert and Muriel Waterstraat.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Darryl was employed by the Syracuse VA Hospital. Darryl was an avid cook and baker. In his spare time, Darryl enjoyed woodworking, painting ceramic figurines and taking care of his family.
He is survived by his children, Christopher (Jeffery Pearce) Waterstraat and Benjamin (Sara) Waterstraat; siblings, Cheryl (Mark) Kirsch, John (Judy Teachout) Waterstraat, Robin (Dan) Groth, Patti (Bill) Putman and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Marlene and his stepson, Samuel Lawrence. Donations may be made to Hospice Facility, Matthew House, Inc. of Auburn, NY.
Darryl's family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Cottages at Garden Grove, Cicero, NY for many years of care and support, given to Darryl and his family. Darryl's family also wishes to express thanks and gratitude to Matthew House, Inc. of Auburn, NY for caring for Darryl's beloved wife Marlene in her final days.
