Daphne M. Stevens, 88, of Liverpool and formerly of Stony Point, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024.
Daphne, better known as "Daye", was born in New York City on July 13, 1935 to the late Leonard C. Spier and Olga Monus Spier.
Daye was the most dedicated mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt. Through thick and thin, her life was her family, always selfless with unending generosity and unconditional love. Daye had various part- time jobs and dabbled in art, music and bowling. She had a great sense of humor and loved the beach. She was an early volunteer in the North Rockland Meals on Wheels and an avid supporter of North Rockland's musical education programs. In her later years, Daye's hobbies included crossword puzzles and treating the family to beach vacations. Her smile and laugh would brighten anyone's day.
Daye is predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband of 60 years, Jerry; two daughters, Amy and Meridith Stevens and her brother, Leonard Spier.
She is survived by her daughter, Shari (William) Drace; son, James (Patricia) Stevens; three grandchildren, Madison Drace, Joshua Drace, and Zachary Stevens; brother, Al (Sheila) Monus; sister-in-law, Diana Spier, several nephews, nieces and countless others.
Services and celebration of life to be held at a later date.
